Australian-based Identity Solutions has crossed the Tasman and created a kiwi connection, appointing ex-BMC Enterprise Account Manager Gary Colquhoun-Petherick as New Zealand Country Manager to establish its New Zealand business.

According to the company, the move effectively doubles the number of local BMC implementation partners.

Colquhoun-Petherick said that Identity Solutions’ new Auckland office – its fourth and first outside Australia – will initially draw on the office backend systems and resources of its parent, until it hires local staff over the next three to six months.

“New Zealand might be a small market in the global sense, but the opportunities are reasonably large. We see real growth opportunities over here,” said Colquhoun-Petherick. “BMC has a very strong New Zealand legacy and its small to medium business solutions have made a decent impact. We’ll be focusing on BMC’s historical sweet spot – telecommunications, education, finance, health and insurance.”

The company will focus on technology solutions rooted in BMC’s Business Service Management approach (BSM), helping companies to address core disciplines of service assurance, service support and service automation.
